Three poems of mine were just published in The Birds We Piled Loosely, Issue #8. The editors at BPL are very kind, and clearly committed to putting together unique works from a varied pool of poets and artists. I’m very happy to be included in this issue and I hope you’ll check it out.
“In the First Year of Marriage” is my favorite of the pieces accepted. It doesn’t mirror my own first year of marriage (which I’m currently still experiencing)–but my goal was to touch on the feelings that the first year of marriage can stir up. There are so many wonderful things to be said about the newlywed phase of a relationship, but there can be darkness and confusion there, too. I hope this poem achieves the goal I had in mind for it.
Take a look at my poems and the pieces by the other talented contributors. I hope you’re all having a great start to the summer and that you’re busy making art, in whatever form “art” takes for you.
